Islamo-Phobia

The “Let’s Say Stop to Islamophobia!” project is an international youth project under Erasmus+ KA220-YOU (Cooperation Partnerships in Youth), aiming to strengthen young people’s awareness and capacity to combat Islamophobia in Europe.

The project particularly focuses on the experiences of Muslim youth aged 18–30 who face hate speech, discrimination and social exclusion. It aims to empower them through trainings based on media literacy, human rights and active citizenship.

Project Information

The main aim of the project is to enable Muslim youth in Europe to cope with exclusion, discrimination, and hate speech stemming from Islamophobia while raising public awareness on this issue. The project includes four main educational events, two dissemination summits, and three key intellectual outputs.

Objectives

  • To increase conceptual and historical awareness of Islamophobia
  • To strengthen the coping skills of Muslim youth exposed to discrimination and hate speech
  • To enable young people to critically read and analyse media content
  • To contribute to raising active young citizens within a human rights and global citizenship framework
  • To disseminate the project outputs across the EU and to build a sustainable e-learning platform

  • E-Learning Platform: A 4-module online training system with quizzes and certification
  • No Hate Speech Training Module: Handbooks for trainers and young people
  • European Islamophobia Research Report: Analysis based on qualitative and quantitative data from selected countries

Metamo Education Center (Belgium)

Located in Ghent, Belgium. Areas of Activity: Educates youth on professional competence, ethical responsibility, scientific thinking, public benefit, and creativity by blending Turkish and Belgian cultures. Special Focus: Social and educational development of youth, international cooperation, and diaspora engagement. Notable Features: Carries out culture- and science-based projects.
